      Delayed referral of venous ulcers increases resource usage.
      investigated the reasons behind venous imaging referral delays for patients with venous leg ulcers (VLUs). The patients averaged 8.6 ± 9.7 visits before endovenous thermal ablation. The authors concluded that earlier referrals for venous interrogation could improve healing and decreased resource usage. Although their retrospective study has several points of merit, their findings probably only represent the tip of the iceberg.
